I watched the video on the Britax web-site, which helped me. I am using britax marathon rear facing and with the ""Swedish"" style tether connected to the floor below the chair. Sometimes britax marathon seems as though the harness is tight without hearing the clicking sound. There is no slack and when I do the pinch check, britax marathon is fine. My husband always pulls britax marathon until they hears the clicking, but I sometimes loosen it a bit because it seems tight. I have a 2008 Subaru Outback and this chair provides a couple more inches of leg room for the front passenger than my earlier Snugride child chair. I am happy with it and my 14 month elderly daughter likes it. They had no issues with the Snugride, but this chair has much more cushion and they basically falls asleep in it when they are driving. The only downside that I can think of is that I cannot see her in the back chair because the side impact wings are so massive (which is a lovely thing).
